Style attribute values are not dynamic; that is, they can only be populated with text or numbers entered into the style value table, not with formulas.
Styles can be applied to either reference (non-dynamic) or dynamic layers.
Styles can contain values for either non-dynamic or dynamic attributes. However, applying a style value to a dynamic attribute will only have an effect if the attribute’s formula is a simple user input formula. (User input formulas use single functions with the word “User” in them, such as UserChoice and UserInputB.”) If the formula is not a user input formula, the attribute will momentarily take on the style’s value but then automatically recalculate its previous value unless dynamic updates have been disabled.
Styles containing TimeScope attributes must have the TS_BUILT attribute included (checked on) so that the color (and, if applicable, prototype shape) are visible in the palette. Styles containing TimeScope attributes must have the TS_BUILT attribute included (checked on) and its value set to 1.
If in doubt, do not include dynamic attributes in styles.
