About Scenario Sketch Tools
The Scenario Sketch Tools in Scenario 360 make it easier to create alternative
scenarios by providing useful ways to create and change map features and
attributes. One
common application is setting up alternative land-use plans by painting
parcels with particular land-use styles or by cloning existing land-use
areas.
Scenario Sketch tools are based on the use of styles,
which are collections of predetermined attribute values that may also
have an associated .
There are five tools:
- Style
Manager is used to create, change and manage styles and the values
of attributes they contain.
- Palette
lets you display and access Scenario Sketch styles, and also provides
an easy way to create new styles.
- Painter
Tool applies a style’s predetermined set of attribute values to any
existing feature that you touch with the “paint brush” cursor.
- Clone
Tool lets you create identical copies of a style feature, including
both its shape and its attributes, by clicking on the map.
- Sketch
Monitor lets you monitor feature attributes as you sketch.
To use the Painter Tool or Clone Tool, you must first create at least
one style for them to use.
Scenario Sketch Tools are meant to be used in conjunction with ArcMap
editing tools, not as a substitute.
To access Scenario Sketch
Tools, click on the appropriate buttons on the Scenario Sketch Tools toolbar.
If this
toolbar is not visible, choose View >
Toolbars from the main menu of ArcMap, then place a check next
to Scenario 360 Sketch Tools.
You can
also toggle the Sketch Tools toolbar on and off using the Sketch
Toolbar button on the Scenario 360 Decision Tools toolbar. Some
of the tools are unavailable (grayed out) until you start a map editing
session using the Scenario 360 Start Editing command or the ArcMap Editor.
