Templates allow you to save analysis component properties, relationships between components, and formulas so that they can be used with other data or shared with other users.
You can save an analysis as a template with some or all of the component relationships by clicking the Scenario 360 toolbar menu, pointing to Analysis, then clicking Save Template. Templates will be saved in the CVFiles\Templates directory.
When saving a template, you will be prompted to select the components you wish to save in the template. Click on or off components listed in the Tree, Category, or Diagram view. Components displayed with an X are those you did not choose to save with the template. Once you have selected all of the components you wish to save, click the Save Template button.
The Tree view provides a hierarchical representation of all analysis components. Click the + symbol to expand the list and the - symbol to contract the list. Click once on any component to save it to your template. Any components that are dependent on the selected component will automatically be selected for you. You can view dependencies and relationships using the Diagram view (see below).
Categories are a convenient way to organize a complex analysis by creating groups of information that can be applied across all indicators, assumptions, attributes, and charts. Categories can be used to filter, sort, and keep track of groups of information. When setting up an analysis, a user can create and name categories. Examples might include “Cost Analysis,” “Roads,” or “Schools”. The “Roads” category would include all the indicators, assumptions, attributes, and charts that apply to roads in that analysis.
Use the Category view to easily select a category of information to save to your template. Any components that are dependent on the components in that category will automatically be selected for you. You can view dependencies and relationships using the Diagram view (see below).
Use the Diagram view to look at the connections and relationships between components that you will be saving. Right click on any component to add it to your template. To view another area of the diagram, click and drag your mouse to move the diagram up, down, back, and forth.
