Viewing or changing feature attributes

You can view or change the attributes of existing map features during analysis. Whether you're using ArcMap, ArcEditor, or ArcInfo, you use the same editing tools in Scenario 360 to work on your geographic data.  (To view attributes of new map features as you create them, use the Scenario Sketch Monitor .)

  1. Start an editing session.

It may be helpful to set selectable layers using the Selection menu in ArcMap then clicking Set Selectable Layers.  This will open a list that lets you choose which layers you want to select when editing. For example, you might want to select a large number of buildings by drawing a box around them; but as you drew the selection box, you selected a parcel by mistake. To avoid this, you might uncheck the Parcels layer in the Selectable Layers list so that parcels cannot be selected.

  1. Click the Edit Tool button  on the ArcMap Editor toolbar and select the features you wish to view or change.  If multiple features are selected, all selected features will assume any newly assigned value.  Any other computed attribute values will automatically be refreshed.

  2. Right-click on the selected features and click Attributes  on the pop-up menu.
    -OR-
Select a feature and click the View or Change Feature Attributes button on the Scenario 360 toolbar.

  1. When you have finished viewing or editing your attributes, close the attributes window.

  2. When you have finished editing your map features, stop the editing session by clicking the 360 Analysis tab Stop Edit icon or by clickingthe Stop Edit button  on the Scenario 360 toolbar.

  3. You will be prompted to save or discard your edits.  Click Yes to save your edits, click No to discard your edits, or click Cancel to return to the editing session.
