Opening or closing the ArcMap table of contents

The ArcMap table of contents lists all the data frames and layers on the map and displays what features the symbols in each layer represent.  Turn the ArcMap table of contents on or off:

1. Click the Window menu.

2. Click Table of Contents.

If you wish to see more of your map, you can drag the table of contents off the ArcMap window.
