Working with an analysis diagram

An analysis diagram displays connections and relationships between components.  For detailed information on analysis diagrams, see About analysis diagrams.

 

Many of the tools used to work with analysis diagrams are accessed via the right-click menu.  Right-click on any component icon in the diagram layout to access the additional options listed here:

The analysis diagram toolbar

The analysis diagram window includes a toolbar that will allow you to move around the diagram; select layout options; and save, load, and print diagram layouts.  Remember, you can hover your mouse over any toolbar button for a brief description of the button function.  Analysis diagram toolbar buttons include:

Show Legend – Turn on or off the diagram legend.

Organize Diagram – Organize your diagram layout by category or display only certain components.

 Load Diagram Layout – Load a previously saved diagram layout (see Save Diagram Layout below).

 Save Diagram Layout – Organize your diagram, display only the components you wish, or view a diagram of a component of your analysis then save that layout for future use.  You can load saved diagram layouts using the Load Diagram Layout button.

 Print Diagram – Print the current diagram layout.  This button works like a “print preview” button, you can modify the print view after clicking it.

 Save Snapshot – Save a snapshot of the current diagram layout.  You can save the diagram in .bmp, .jpeg, .png, or .tiff format.

 Show Entire Analysis – If you are viewing connections to a specific component in your analysis, you can switch back to viewing the entire analysis using this button.

 Refresh View – Refresh the diagram view.  When you make changes to your analysis structure, you can use this button to update your diagram.

 Find Analysis Component – Find a component in a category, layer, by name, or by results.

 Magnifier – Open the diagram layout in a magnified view.

 Help – Open the Scenario 360 help system.

 Zoom Level – Select a zoom level for your analysis layout.  You can also enter a zoom percentage in the zoom box.

 Select Tool – Select components.  Click on a component to select it or drag a box around many components to select them.  You can then use the right-click menu to perform different operations on the selected components.

 Pan Tool – Move the diagram layout around in the view.  You can use the Refresh View button to reset the view to the previous diagram layout.

 Interactive Zoom Tool – Zoom in or out.  Click this button then click and move the mouse cursor up or down in the diagram layout.

 Marquee Zoom Tool – Click and drag a box around components to zoom in on that area of the diagram layout.  Remember, you can use the Refresh View button to reset the view to the previous diagram layout.
